Content Management Systems
Content management systems are database driven websites where the information you see is dependent on what you the viewer requests. This allows for a lot of flexibility in what information is displayed depending on things like user accounts, date, regional settings, history, or saved settings.
CMSs are capable of multiple users to contribute to it's content. Anonymous and authenticated users are able to add content, comment on content, vote on polls, buy poducts, and collaborate in discussion forums.
E-commerce CMS are very popular because this allows surfers the ability to purchase items instantly on line. These sites send your invoices, and notifies you by email.
Some common services your CMS can offer are:
- Image Galleries
- E-commerce
- RSS new feeds
